Local Testing

WHAT IS A PKP?

Product Knowledge Plots (PKP) are large scale field plots, grown and managed by local producers.

PKP's allow us to see, first hand, how our new and leading Pioneer products perform in our local environments.  They enable us to compare our leading products to our competitor's leading products.

Each PKP has a standard set of hybrids included each season which often contain new experimental products that are on their way to be registered as products you could purchase in future seasons.

PKP results are compiled to give us all a much larger picture across our own region, other regions, provincially and as a whole in Western Canada.

More replications in multiple environments help to show generic strengths and weaknesses.

Being managed by growers who treat PKP's as there own fields, because they are, shows real world, field scale, honest results.

For 2025, we have one corn PKP with our proven AcreMax products and our new PowerCore Enlist hybrids. We also have three Liberty Link canola PKP's and an Optimum Gly canola PKP in the area we service.

I must give a huge shout out to these fantastic growers who were too kind to tell me "No".
Enns Farms, Ernest Fast, Tim Wood, Vanzessen Dairy Farm and Fred & Luke Jantzen.

I cannot say "Thank You" enough for hosting these plots. These plots a huge tool in understanding how Pioneer products perform in our area. They also great to see comparisons throughout the year. A large part of my familiarity and product knowledge comes from PKP's each year.

Side-By-Side Field Trials

We do a number of side-by-side trials with local growers, primarily with new and upcoming products.  If you are interested in trying some Pioneer canola or corn seed on your own farm, please let us know.

In 2025 our focus is on P1540L, our new 100 Series Liberty Link Canola and our new PowerCore Enlist corn hybrids.

Another big thank you to those growers who were willing to give Pioneer Brand canola a try next to the top products on their farms with a side-by-side trial.
